Privacy & site storage
How The Loft UK uses personal information and stores your basket.
Information we collect
When you place an order or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address, order details, payment status, fulfilment and tracking information, and correspondence with us. Our systems may also create limited technical and security logs needed to operate and protect the storefront.
How we use it
We use personal information to take and manage orders, verify payment status, deliver or arrange collection of goods, provide tracking, handle returns and customer service, prevent fraud or misuse, keep business and accounting records, and meet legal obligations.
Depending on the purpose, we rely on performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business.
Payments and delivery partners
Card payments are handled by SumUp. The Loft UK do not receive or store your full card details. For delivery orders, relevant order and address information is provided to Royal Mail so the parcel can be sent and tracked.
We may also use hosting, infrastructure, professional advisers or authorities where reasonably necessary to operate the service or meet legal requirements. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for legal, tax, accounting, dispute and security requirements. Order and accounting records may need to be retained for several years; where a six-year record-keeping period applies, we may retain the relevant records for that period.
Basket storage and cookies
This storefront uses your browser's local storage to remember the contents of your basket. At present, the storefront does not use marketing or analytics cookies. When you move to SumUp's hosted checkout or another third-party service, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact hello@theloftuk.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information is handled.
